Details of Operation: Under the guidance of superior officers, Bidar District Police executed Operation 3A, focusing on a series of criminal activities perpetrated by the Maywad gang. The crackdown resulted in the arrest of 10 individuals involved in a total of 15 cases, including ATM theft, interstate two-wheeler theft, and tractor theft. The joint efforts of officials from Telangana and Maharashtra played a crucial role in the successful operation.
ATM Theft: Three members of the Maywad gang were apprehended in connection with an ATM theft case in Haryana. The gang had managed to accumulate a significant sum of 9,50,000 rupees, along with a car valued at 15 lakhs and additional cash and assets worth 24,50,000 rupees. A joint team of officials from Telangana and Maharashtra coordinated the arrest of four other accused individuals, who were subsequently transported to Haryana for legal proceedings.
Interstate Two-Wheeler Theft: The police successfully tackled an interstate two-wheeler theft case, leading to the arrest of the responsible individual. A total of 12 stolen two-wheelers, valued at 4,60,000 rupees, were recovered in Bidar, Kalburgi, and Hyderabad.
Counterfeit Currency Network: In a parallel operation, the Bidar District Police busted a counterfeit currency network attempting to circulate fake 500-rupee notes. A coordinated effort resulted in the arrest of five individuals and the confiscation of materials including a laptop, printer, printing board, and more, with an estimated worth of 25,000 rupees.
Swift Response to Tractor Theft: The police responded promptly to a Mahindra Arjuna tractor theft at the new city police station, utilizing CCTV footage for identification. Within 24 hours, an accused individual was apprehended, and the stolen tractor, valued at 3,75,000 rupees, was recovered.
Acknowledgments and Rewards: The commendable efforts of Bidar District Police did not go unnoticed. Officers received appreciation from Honorable Sri Sandeep Shandilya, IPS, ADGP, who recognized their work in drug peddler arrests in 2020. As a token of appreciation, a reward of 45,000 rupees and a letter of commendation were presented.
